DAVID HAZNAW

 David Haznaw is a full-time writer/author, as well as an amateur musician, sports fan, husband and father. He loves the craft of storytelling and writes in a way that takes you into the mind of the main character, which is often himself. Over the past 25 years, he has written and produced video content and other corporate communications projects for clients across the United States. David has published two books of creative nonfiction, both crafted from his commitment to writing  every day.

BISHOP RON HICKS

Bishop Ronald Hicks graduated from the University of St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, IL with a B.A. in philosophy in 1989. After graduation, he left for Mexico and volunteered in NPH for one year, where he would meet Father William Wasson, the subject of his book CHANGE THE WORLD. START WITH THE CHILDREN. Upon his return he entered the seminary and was ordained a priest on May 21, 1994 for the Archdiocese of Chicago. He went on to receive his Doctorate in 2003. He worked in a variety of parishes and became the Dean of Formation at St. Joseph College Seminary. In July 2005, with permission from Francis Cardinal George, Father Hicks moved to El Salvador to begin a five-year term as Regional Director of NPH in Central America. On September 17, 2018, Father Hicks was consecrated a bishop by Cardinal Blasé J. Cupich.

MARLENE BYRNE

Marlene Byrne has been writing her entire life. Professionally, Marlene was the CEO of Celtic Chicago, a full-service, advertising agency. While her children were young, she published a series of children’s books focused on stories about backyard games, under the umbrella of Project Play. Her partnership with David Haznaw was fostered during their days working together and now they are writing partners. Their book MUSIC HAS LEGS is a story of triumph about Juan Manuel Pineda, an orphan from El Salvador.
